Cinematographer James Friend ASC, BSC GBCT is known for his work on Rillington Place and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man.

He started his career as a lighting technician at the age of 16. Working through the ranks on many features, commercials, promos and documentaries before stepping behind the camera. With a passion for storytelling, he has been mentored and worked under renowned directors of photography Paul Wheeler BSC and Phil Meheux BSC.

After graduating from the London Film School and the National Film and Television School short course programme he has gone on to photograph many award winning feature films, television dramas and documentaries all over the word.

In 2015 he was invited to join the British Society of Cinematographers.

James is also a member of the Guild of British Camera Technicians and a full voting member of BAFTA.
